Implementing API calls and managing state variables in app development

In this meeting, the participants discussed updating the homepage of an app and setting the app state correctly. They considered using page level settings instead of app state and determined that page state variables would be more appropriate for their needs. They discussed the flow of the app and decided to make an API call on page load to update the page variable and buttons. They also discussed the need for a second call to set the page variable for the second row of events. The participants acknowledged the need for performance optimization and mentioned the possibility of using response caching. They also clarified that compilation time is not an accurate indicator of screen load time for end users. The meeting ended with plans to continue working on the app and addressing any performance issues that arise.
